My Story
My path to nursing began in 1985 as a Medical Technician in the United States Air Force, where I gained my earliest clinical experience and discovered a deep connection to obstetric care. That calling shaped the next three decades of my life.
After my service, I moved into hospital-based labor and delivery nursing and never looked back. From Frisbee Memorial Hospital in the mid-1990s through Exeter Hospital, Portsmouth Hospital, Beverly Hospital, and traveling nationwide with American Mobile Nursing, I built a career grounded in the realities of high-risk obstetric care—the midnight emergencies, the split-second decisions, the weight of responsibility that comes with two lives on the line.
At Sibley Memorial Hospital and then Mass General Brigham / Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, I took on charge and triage nurse leadership in a unit delivering roughly 1,800 babies a year. I became expert in advanced fetal monitoring interpretation—Category I through III tracings—and in the clinical judgment required when things go wrong fast: cesarean section circulation, obstetric emergencies, and the rapid coordination that can mean the difference between a healthy outcome and a devastating one.
Alongside bedside care, I pursued an MSN in Healthcare Policy from Chamberlain University, deepening my understanding of the systems, documentation standards, and risk frameworks that shape patient outcomes. I also taught as an Adjunct Professor at the University of New Hampshire, instructing the next generation of nurses in maternal-newborn care and fetal monitoring.
Through all of those years, I witnessed firsthand what happens when the standard of care falls short—and how families are left without answers. That experience led me to legal nurse consulting: the place where my clinical depth, my understanding of documentation and policy, and my dedication to patients can serve families seeking truth and accountability.
My Approach
I bring the same rigor to legal case review that I brought to the bedside. Every record is reviewed line by line. Every fetal monitoring strip is interpreted against current ACOG and AWHONN guidelines. Every deviation from the standard of care is identified clearly, documented precisely, and explained in language that attorneys, juries, and mediators can understand.
I believe in honesty above all. If a case has merit, I will build the clinical narrative to prove it. If it doesn't, I'll tell you that too. My role is to provide clear, defensible clinical insight—not advocacy shaped by outcome.
Let's work together
